Writing Retreat, October 24-27

It’s officially fall. (Cue the rain, please!)

This is my favorite time of year to work on new projects, to dig into the messy process of generating fresh ideas by sifting through notes, scribbles, half-remembered dreams, and half-baked drafts to see where I might pick up a new thread.

Since I began my writing life as a reporter (Editorial meetings! Assignments! Deadlines!) it took me a long time to surrender to the messiness of the creative process. But I’ve managed to find my way here, and it’s a great place to be.

If you’re in the mood to sink into a new project or revisit something you’ve put down for a while, please considering joining me at House on the Metolius October 24-27. We’ll be a small group, and there a few spots remaining.

In addition to generative writing sessions and casual conversation about writing, you’ll have lots of free time to explore the beautiful, private 200-acre property on the banks of the Metolius River—hiking, fly-fishing, or reading by the fire in the lodge.

Check out the details at www.metolius.com/writers and email me from the contact page with any questions.

Happy fall!
